De Viering van Thee
A serving of tea in a lovely chapel, accompanied by silence, music, poetry and beautiful people.
On Saturday, 1 March, we will be organising a new edition of ‘De Viering’, this time in the form of a Tea Ceremony. Tea has been shared for centuries all over the world as a healing medicine. It was originally considered a holy sacrament. Particularly in the East, it has a rich, meditative tradition in which it is practiced as “a way”. A method for spiritual development in which people come together in silence, where the leaf meets the water.
“That we can find a lasting tranquility in our own selves in the company of others is the paradox that is the Way of Tea.”
— Hounsai Daisosho
This afternoon will take place in the Rijnkapel in Amerongen. During this afternoon Pieter accompanies the tea ceremony, in which various gifts are alternated with songs and poems shared by Sven, Eva and Pieter.
This is not a profit making event; we ask for a contribution of €35 for location rental and tea to cover costs.
