Sounding Scriptures (One-Day Retreat)
Songs, mantras, prayers and scriptures will be woven together in a poetic journey along different continents, peoples and traditions that the world has known throughout time.
On Saturday 7 December, Eva Driessen and Sven Signe, together with dear friends, will create a musical tribute, called “Sounding Scriptures”. Songs, mantras, prayers and scriptures will be woven together in a poetic journey along different continents, peoples and traditions that the world has known throughout time. In a bow to all who have gone before us in walking the path of love, on the way to timeless truth beyond all forms. ‘Those who tried to remember us when we seemed to forget, those who tried to walk us home when we were lost, those who lived in connection in times of alienation, those who held the torch high in times of darkness, those who continued to see the underlying unity beyond all forms, to all who have lived in reverence for the mystery.’ In a desire to be inspired by those who have gone before us, in recognition of the consistent message found in the many different religions, traditions and peoples, we seek to create a thanksgiving in which we reflect on the enormous wealth that man has left behind throughout the ages.

This one-day retreat takes place in the Universel Murad Hassil in Katwijk, exactly on the spot where the Indian mystic Hazrat Inayat Khan, the bringer of the Sufi message of love, harmony and beauty had a special experience. During this day we come together in the hall of the impressive Sufi temple, we open with a meditation to get together in the silence to slowly share the sounds from there before we slowly finish the journey together after a few hours.
